EDiT: OKAY NOW I'M FINISHED. YOU CAN STOP ASKING FOR THESE FEATURES NOW.

-------------------

Wow I hate journal memes. But yet, I still keep doing them. I really must hate myself. [EDiT: REALLY REALLY.]

Anyway. I did agree to do that gallery feature thing, so here it is. You comment here (telling me something you like about me or my art in accordance with the Spread The Love meme) and I go through your gallery and display three deviations that I like. Also note that there is a limit of ten people before I stop doing this. The first three slots are taken by people who have already featured my artwork in their own Journals recently.

Also, please note that although *Ideya-Freak, =Aura-Moon, and =feniiku are featured, I have not yet actually chosen pieces from their galleries to feature. I will do this tomorrow, when it is not 1:37 in the morning. Thank you in advance for your patience.

SPREAD THE LOVE MEME (taken from =Aura-Moon)

Leave a comment telling me one thing you like about me or my art, then re-post this meme on your own journal so I can do the same for you!

Spread the love!

FEATURED

The only condition upon which I will feature your art here is your posting a copy of this featuring my work as one of the ten.

1. :iconideya-freak:
-
This drawing is only a tiny chunk of the tip of the iceberg when compared to the rest of the world that it represents. Dare has created a complex environment with a number of interacting and fully-realized societies, of which "My Friend" is only a single member. This world is worth exploring, and these drawings are the key.
-
The colored version of Dare's Nightmaren of Purity. Though I am working on an alternate coloration of the same drawing, this so-called "bad" example of Dare's coloring work nonetheless effortlessly dwarfs my own in both quality and style.
-
A deep thinker and a deep writer, Dare has proven time and again her capacity for this type of poetic analysis. Not only a great pencil artist, this modest example clearly shows her proficiency in literature.

2. :iconfeniiku:
-
Who else remembers Doomsday Zone? That was, in my opinion, one of the best gameplay moments of Sonic history, captured extremely well here.
-
One would be extremely amiss visiting Feniiku's gallery and not having a look at the PlotChasm flash series. It is one of the most gloriously random things I have yet seen here, and it continues to point out wonderful little absurdities in the Sonic series. Also: that pit was the stupidest thing in the world.
-
A very fitting piece showcasing Metal Sonic's awesomeness. The pose and foreshortening make the drawing very dynamic.

3. :iconaura-moon:
-
JEWEL LiBERATiON is a prominent name in the old NiGHTS fandom, and for good reason. Aura kept at it for years, keeping JEWEL in the spotlight and making certain that everyone knew about the Gen. Of course, with the classic Gen system growing somewhat dilapidated, JEWEL is no longer precisely the same, but the character is nonetheless a beautiful example of the style Aura has followed since day 1.
-
Aura's self-named Nightmaren character is shown here in all her icy glory. With a stare that could probably freeze a Medusa, Aura maintains a sense of cold beauty in virtually all of her appearances, and this picture is no exception.
-
A very competently designed mecha form for her Sonic character Mint. The inks are pulled off quite well, and the drawing does a good job of sticking to the mid-series mecha style of the Archie series, of which I was always a fan.

4. :iconbdsb:
-
Basically, this is the one semi-serious thing in his whole gallery. I'm just featuring it because of the line "A 12-year-old lady jeopardized me in the eye."
-
Horrible Horrible is something that BDSb started writing as part of a rather casual art trade I roped him into awhile back. Then he wrote three more chapters, and the story became really just insanely awesome. I strongly recommend reading the full story, as it is chock full of humor, parody, and him brutally making fun of me. Good family entertainment.
-
Okay, so that's more than three. Fine. Whatever. I can't not show off the insanity that was the seventh grade, nor Too Much Trouble Being Lazy (an insane make-fun-of-Q-fest that is dear to my heart). I also can't leave off his much-needed update to Chaos Comics, let alone the DelOS Macbomb error. One would be making a tremendous mistake not to look through these hilariously random submissions.

5. :iconanthro7:
-
This is a wonderful example of Anthro's NiGHTS work, and I think it shows off the dreamlike, hopeful quality of her art very neatly. Done in a slightly cartoony fashion, but for me that makes it all the better. It just plain fits for the subject matter.
-
The latest example of the Anthro's arts and crafts work, and in my opinion one of the best, the Talking Reala plush doll is very accurate to its original design and was made in less than a week for sale on eBay. Anthro is impressive in her ability to crank these out quickly at no loss of quality, and this doll proves it.
-
Okay, I just had to double up again on this one. First we have her Dreamer ID, which is sort of a bandwagon thing. I couldn't cut it from my choices simply because I admire the art style she used on it so darn much. The other one is the eighth in her Glomp series (which is up to about fifteen or so now), which essentially is composed of a bunch of pictures of the Anthromew tackle-hugging (or headsitting, or in this case headbiting) her hapless (and usually somewhat depressed) target to cheer them up or otherwise pay them tribute. Have a look at the rest of these if you want to see a bunch of other peoples' traumatized characters being attacked by her avatar.

6. :iconlordblumiere:
-
Between her fascinations with Zero 2 and Auto, I'm mildly amazed she actually has any time left to draw them. But she does, and Blue has not only created a 02 fan out of me (to the point that I did my Zero 2 Miracle track for her) but also developed an excellent design for Disco Keychain Taser Auto.
-
Not only does she draw, she writes as well. Blue has an excellent gift for poetry, and everything she produces is emotive and meaningful, though often quite sad.
-
You remind me of the baby/(What baby?) The baby with the power/(What power?) Power of voodoo/(Who do?) You do/(Do what?) Remind me of the baby
If you don't know Labyrinth, don't say anything. Also, I love the wing shapes created in the second fractal. Those two are a small sample of a very large gallery of fractal art that Blue has made; I suggest you take a poke through those as well, if you have any interest at all in fractals.

7. :iconanjellethehedgehog:
-
This one produces a nice, dreamlike feel, while still keeping the stronger presence generated by the character's design. A well-done exposition for the character, although it was not created by the artist.
-
Reala abuse is generally very fun, and this drawing is no exception. Cheers for messing with the red dude, Anjelle!
-
An unusually serious piece in Anjelle's gallery, this submission is essentially a poetic manifesto against alcohol, with which I wholeheartedly agree.

8. :iconi-am-imaginary:
-
Imaginary has posted the results of several remarkable cosplays, of which I believe this is the best. Her Jackle costume represents the character solidly, and of course the infamous mantle is reproduced quite well.
-
An example of Imaginary's surreal work. I quite like the feel of the piece as a whole, but I think my favorite single element would have to be the fact that the clock's gears are shown instead of the face. Something about that really strikes me.
-
Having done some vaguely similar class projects, I know that she may not have meant this as a commentary about modern marriage or other such rot, but I still find the idea of a manufactured, barcoded life to be well presented here as something to be avoided.

9. :iconjamesprower:
-
As he is primarily a musician, I feel rather bad about not featuring any of Jimmy's (or rather, J-Vibe's) music. However, dA recently told him that music uploads are a no-no, so he left it alone and most of his older music is no longer stored on the external server he kept it on. So, we shall have to settle for some of his remarkable work in traditional art forms. These four pieces all share common themes -- fear, pain, sorrow, loneliness, anger... They all deal with negative emotions. For reasons that may or may not be obvious to the rest of the world, I find that these works resonate quite strongly with me. Each one shows a slightly different emotional trait, and each one is displayed very powerfully.
-
I know the Otherside project is old news by now, but honestly? I'm still very much a fan and fully plan on doing a full set of fan art for it when I actually feel up to the task. This particular character is Kain, the King of Hatred, and in my opinion a staple of Jim's gallery that we need to see more of in the future.
-
Something about this first one really struck me some time ago, though as with pretty much Jimmy's entire gallery I failed to tell him so at the time. There is of course the obvious connection to one of his older projects, Rhythm War, as well as his Mother fan work, but for me it went rather beyond that. Indeed, there was a set of drawings I had once planned to do, around the "theme phrase" of "Pump it up Pump it up!" or something like that, that were all inspired quite directly by this and a handful more of Jimmy's art. The second one shows a variant on the style of the first, of which I am quite fond, that Jimmy calls his "Hyperstyle." Also, a cactus.

10. :iconrazimysteria:
-
On account of this being (yet) another of those pictures that is not only good but especially resonant with me, I have little recourse but to feature it. It's exceptionally emotive and conveys a great deal of depth -- doubly so considering that for some odd reason I can't fullview it at the moment. That's talent, folks, no sarcasm implied.
-
I must say, in the case of much of Razi's gallery, the art is (ironically in the case of the second photo) simply breathtaking. I am regularly astounded by what this young woman can convince her camera(s?) to do, and as far as I am concerned, speaking as a fellow photographer, she is truly a magician.
-
By largely the same "Razi makes magic with cameras" token, my soft spot for macro work has decided to assert itself. Making a crab emote, showing the universe that exists in a single dewdrop, and giving a flower the space to be strong, these are the marks of a decidedly talented artist with a peculiar strength in small-scale composition.

11. :iconspinningcannon:
-
Obviously, Jewel has an absolutely ungodly number of deviations that I want to feature here and cannot for fear of completely ruining my audience's attention to any of it. In all honesty, she is the single best artist I have encountered -- the most mechanically talented, the most creative, and the most prolific. She keeps no fewer than ten entire worlds running constantly in her mind at any given time, each of them fully populated by characters that have their own hopes, dreams, and entirely realized lives. Among these are vo!t@ge, Hokthai, Sonic Inversion, Parnassus, and many others. This is just a tiny, tiny sampling of these worlds' mascots, with a small amount of her fan art thrown in for good measure (mostly because I cannot bring myself to cull it out). The first one on the list is included primarily to show that even five years ago, Jewel's artistic skill far, far surpassed my own at present. Put simply, she's talented, she's funny, she supports what she likes, and she amazes me at every turn.
-
She also writes. A lot. And very well. I can't honestly say I'm doing justice to her collection of written works, any more than I am to her drawn or photographed collections, but I'm doing my best here. This writing, though it does not include any of her fanfiction or abstracted stories, is nonetheless remarkable in its ability to convey powerful feeling far beyond the scope of what the words alone can communicate.
-
So in addition to having the lexical skill of a poet, the ear of a musician, and the manual talent of a surgeon, she also has the eye of a photographer. As I said in a rather old comment that still holds true today, "[She is] just plain old better at this than me." I think of myself as a photographer among other things, and a pretty darn good one at that, considering my relative inexperience. But there is really very little in life that Jewel does not seem to out-perform me at, and photography is no exception at all.
-[empty]
Music submissions would doubtless go here, except that I can seem to find little of it in her gallery that adequately represents her massive talent in that area as well. Evidently, the particular pieces I had been searching for were either taken down at some point (probably by the unrelenting force of low artist self-esteem, of which I occasionally suffer myself), or they were never on this particular website to begin with (also very possible, as they are scattered over several servers). However, suffice it to say that she is just as much a composer as a painter, writer, sketcher, photographer, and artist in general -- which in my opinion is quite high praise to her musical abilities indeed.
-
When you look at these, I must stress that these are sketches. And, for that matter, often sketches that she feels she messed up on or took too little time on to be any good. Also, having personally witnessed the speed at which she can churn these out at plain old fishing incredible quality, I can tell you that she probably erased a maximum of about six lines on any one of these drawings and spent very little time on most of them. I cannot make art anything resembling that degree of mechanical talent regardless of how long I take, so Jewel's raw talent and honed skill should both be very plainly evident by this point. Lastly, I'd also like to point out that many of these are not her own characters, and that she probably had to improvise the conversion of other people's designs to her style on the spot. I personally have a great deal of doubt that this slowed her down in the slightest.
-
Of course, this being the very last entry of one past the very last person on the list for this STUPIDLY long-running meme, I feel I have some license to feature the epic, epic, epic ego-bloats that Jewel has seen fit to bestow upon my meager selection of characters. There are several others, naturally, but these three are my favorites, for a whole host of reasons that I'm pretty sure most of you no longer care to hear. As a result I shall spare you any further reading about that, and simply move on to my conclusion:

All this, of course, says nothing of the incredible, unfathomably amazing soul that resides in Jewel's body, and I honestly could talk about it for days on end and not even scratch the surface. Quite frankly, anyone out there would do well to aspire to any of the qualities I see in both the persona and artwork of the person behind the name =spinningcannon.

Peace out,
~Q-Lok

Song Lyrics:

N/A -- N/A
-------------------

Character

Coolest: NiGHTS
Cutest: The ';Pians. Sickeningly so.
Funniest: Girania (seriously, obvious Gulpo and Gillwing knockoffs [appearance and gameplay elements, respectively] aside, what the fish is up with the balloons?)
Scariest: Wizeman
Stupidest: Will (Helen and Owl are closely tied for second)
Weirdest: Bomamba

Level

Coolest: Reala's original boss arena
Cutest: I dunno. My Dream, maybe? You know, just for the ludicrously high proportion of Nightopians compared to other game areas.
Funniest: Delight City ("So THIS is what being grown-up is like! " Um, wut?)
Hardest: Stick Canyon
Scariest: Nightmare Twin Seeds Tower (Wizeman's original boss arena) or possibly Jackle's boss arena, just for the sheer dementedness factor
Stupidest: Delight City again. Or possibly the one mission where you have to DEATH VORTEX the Nightopians to safety, which is utterly absurd by any standard.
Weirdest: Soft Museum. You bounce off of EVERYTHING.

Moment

Coolest: Seeing Wizeman gray-out at the end of NID. That's an accomplishment, right there.
Cutest: I dunno.
Funniest: Watching Gillwing's head explode off at obscenely high speed when the end of his tail is prematurely Paralooped.
Scariest: Watching the counter tick down as Wizeman hits me with yet another of those infernal tornado attacks.
Stupidest: Realizing the sheer amount of awful that the fans got stuck with in exchange for ten years of waiting and pining for a sequel when JoD came out.
Weirdest: Gillwing's epic head-explody scene; see above.

Music

Coolest: Any of the stage themes in the original game. The application of live music mixing has yet to be matched.
Cutest: Probably one of the "happy ';Pian" tunes from NID.
Funniest: That'd have to be when I first realized that a Macintalk voice was being used in part of The Mantle.
Happiest: Dreams Dreams, either the original adult version or the Sweet Snow version. As annoyed as I was with JoD on the whole, that song was very impressive.
Saddest: There really isn't much sad music in NiGHTS at all. The closest thing would have to be the Night Over tune.
Scariest: D'Force Master.
Stupidest: The kids' version of Dreams Dreams from JoD. That annoys me to no end.
Weirdest: The Mantle.

Sound/Speech

Coolest: Hearing Reala speak for the first time in NID.
Cutest: Maybe Helen first introducing herself to Will. But that's more sickeningly childish than cute, per se.
Funniest: "Go on and touch NiGHTS... if you're into that sort of thing." Screw the ORLY Owl, we need an INNUENDO Owl.
Scariest: NID Wizeman's laugh, as heard in the middle of the night.
Stupidest: Basically anything that Will, Helen, Owl, NiGHTS, Reala, or Wizeman say throughout pretty much all of JoD. In my opinion, that game's dialog was extremely poor in its writing, and shouldn't have even been there in the first place due to the standard set by NID.
Weirdest: Probably realizing for the first time that Owl's innuendo line is almost still intact in the final game.

Villain

Coolest: NID Reala. Or possibly Jackle. Or NID Wizeman. Or Clawz. Or-- Okay, you know what? Screw it. The whole NID boss roster.
Cutest: Um, I really hope this doesn't apply. Imma go with Puffy, but given the competition, that's not saying much.
Funniest: Either JoD Wizeman (because he proved `mangapunksai's gangsta theory 100% correct) or Donbalon (because on top of being named Donbalon, he's also Jackle and Puffy's love child).
Hardest: Clawz, NID Wizeman, or Bomamba.
Scariest: NID Wizeman or NID Reala. They both totally lost credibility with me with the advent of their utterly silly voices in JoD, not to mention Reala's bat tights (a bad idea no matter who you ask).
Stupidest: Donbalon, Chamelan, or Bomamba. They were all patently ridiculous, though of greatly varying difficulty.
Weirdest: Donbalon, Bomamba, Jackle (as much as I like him, you gotta admit that a floating invisible guy wearing only socks, gloves, a hat, and an invulnerable cape is a little odd), or Puffy.

~*OTAKU TEST*~

~*ANIME*~

1.WHAT WAS THE FIRST ANIME YOU HAVE EVER SEEN?
The first that I know of was either Cardcaptors (so brutally mistranslated and Americanized by Nelvana that it's barely recognizable when compared with the original) or Pokémon.

2.WHEN DID YOU REALLY GET INTO ANIME?
Maybe 2004 or 2005.

3.WHAT WAS THE FIRST ANIME THAT YOU SAW EVERY EPISODE OF?
Magic Knight Rayearth (first series only).

4.WHO WAS YOUR FIRST ANIME LOVE?
I didn't.

5.WHO WAS YOUR FIRST ANIME HATE?
Probably the entire cast of Sonic X. That show ruined Sonic even worse for me than Sega had done at the time.

6.DO YOU COLLECT ANIME DVDS?
Sporadically. I grab them when I can.

7.HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT DUBS?
They need to die in a fire. They also do a really, really bad job of communicating the ideas and feel of the original.

8.DOES IT BOTHER YOU WHEN PEOPLE CALL ANIME "JAPANESE CARTOONS"?
Yes, somewhat. It's sort of annoying, but it's not actually inaccurate.

~*MANGA*~

1.WHAT WAS THE FIRST MANGA YOU'VE EVER READ?
I don't know. I'm sure it was something by CLAMP, but I don't remember which one.

2.DO YOU COLLECT MANGA?
Again, occasionally.

3.HOW MUCH MANGA DO YOU HAVE?
Not very much.

4.WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE GENRES IN MANGA?
Those ever-so-rare balances between shonen and shojo. The ones that have even somewhat interesting characters/interactions and still have action of any sort. CLAMP and .hack are the only really major successes I've yet seen in that elusive category, though Trigun and Wolf's Rain come close.

5.HAVE YOU'VE EVER GOTTEN A MANGA IN JAPANESE?
No.

6.HOW DO PRONOUNCE MANGA?
MAHN-gaw.

7.IS MANGA THE ONLY TYPE OF BOOK THAT YOU ENJOY READING?
Not by a long shot.

8.DO YOU READ MANGA SLOWLY OR QUICKLY?
So fast I miss things.

~*VIDEO GAMES*~

1.WHAT WAS THE FIRST VIDEO GAME YOU EVER PLAYED?
I don't remember. However, the first game I ever owned was the Game Gear version of Sonic the Hedgehog 2.

3.DO YOU GET PISSED OFF WHEN YOU LOSE IN A GAME?
Not as much as would probably befit my failures.

4.WHO WAS YOUR FIRST GAME LOVE?
None. Not romantically, anyhow.

5.WHO WAS YOUR FIRST GAME HATE?
There were probably plenty before, and there are definitely plenty since, but I'm going to have to say Shadow the Hedgehog, first appearing in Sonic Adventure 2.

6.DO YOU OWN ANY GAMING SYSTEMS?
VERY YES.

7.DO YOU PLAY WITH CHEATS OR WALKTHROUGHS?
I used to. Now I find that it robs me of all my enjoyment.

8.DOES PLAYING GAMES SOMETIMES GET YOU FRUSTRATED?
Sometimes. Depends on the game and the part of the game.

~*OTHER*~

16. contented in life?
Nah.

17. Do you talk a lot?
Oh, yes. You do not even slightly want to know how many ears I've nearly talked off in the last few weeks.

18. Do you skip meals?
Yeah. I shouldn't, though.

CHARACTER INTERVIEW

CHARACTER/S:
Nami
Windman
Trynis
KiNETiC
Bel
Darius

Who/What are you?
Nami: A chameleon! Also, an old author-persona for Q-Lok. At one point I was known as an Emissary of the "Great Author Dude," but of course that was back in his n00b days.
Windman: I'm mostly Reploid. My operating system is a bit closer to that of the more communicative Dreamcybers, though. The main difference is that I was designed as an organism rather than a system, and so have more personality and interactivity than hard logic. I also shared a stint as an Emissary with Nami in the days of Chaos Comics.
Trynis: I'm one of the warriors chosen to rescue Cephiro. I'm told that my Cephiro is an alternate world to the one most people are familiar with, though. I'm a light magician by trade, and my hometown is the castle town outside Cephiro Castle. I never did get to find my Mashin or my Escudo weapon, but Clef did get the chance to tell our group that we were supposed to get them eventually.
KiNETiC: I'm an Earth Aspect. I do movement and energy, and my granted power is force beams.
Bel: I am a red giant star -- or rather, its embodiment. Our kind lives far outside your group of galaxies, so don't bother looking for us.
Darius: I am the avatar of a white dwarf star. I am one of the presiding council over our galaxy, but my influence is waning in my star's age.

How old are you?
Nami: Late teens. I spent about three years at age 15, but Jacob eventually retconned me out of that year of my life. He never did bother pinning my age down to any particular year afterward, though.
Windman: Only about five years, but for a robot that isn't bad.
Trynis: Twenty-one.
KiNETiC: I am ageless, but my birth was near the earliest moments of our world, a bit over a century ago.
Bel: My star is billions of years older than I; I was ensouled only seven millennia ago.
Darius: I have been bound to my star since it shined as a blue giant, many hundreds of millions of years ago.

YOU WANT A HUG?? XD
Nami: Erm... No thanks?
Windman: I don't suppose I could stop you, could I?
Trynis: Sure! ^_^
KiNETiC: Get away from me before I force beam you to the Moon.
Bel: A what?
Darius: I am unfamiliar with that custom. I apologize.

You got any bad habits?
Nami: Not anything terrible, no.
Windman: I don't have habits, bad or otherwise; I'm a robot.
Trynis: Nah. I'm a hero, what am I supposed to do?
KiNETiC: I tend to get stressed over, well, pretty much everything. If it's worth worrying about, I worry about it more than it's worth.
Bel: Irritability, antisociality, should I continue?
Darius: I have come to peace with most of my flaws, but I still fail to value myself when others do not value my words.

Are you a boy or a girl?
Nami: Guy, all the way!
Windman: I'm a male-pattern Reploid, but that doesn't really give me either one.
Trynis: I'm a boy.
KiNETiC: Demia are genderless. You do know that, right?
Bel: I'm sorry? I don't know what that is.
Darius: I do not understand. Please explain what you mean.

Do you have any brothers or sisters?
Nami: Nope, I'm an only child.
Windman: I was the only Reploid built from my pattern, so no.
Trynis: My older brother was killed at the beginning of the monster attacks, but other than that I have no family. My parents died young as well, even despite the Princess' prayers.
KiNETiC: Only our race. We don't consider each other siblings, as such, but we were all created by -- and, therefore, "children" of -- the same man.
Bel: Can we please have a question I understand?
Darius: No. We are created of stars and we are born of spirit. We cannot have siblings because we are not born.

Who's your mate/spouse?
Nami: None whatsoever. I'm a happy bachelor at the moment.
Windman: And you expect me to mate with someone how again?
Trynis: No, adventuring, killing monsters, and saving the world doesn't leave much time for a family life. If I had the chance to pick, though, I'd choose Aliratha.
KiNETiC: I'm unattached. Our kind has no need for romance or mating, so I don't bother.
Bel: Sadly, I haven't got one. I've been trying to conjoin with Christmas Star for two millennia, but that hasn't gone anywhere.
Darius: My star does not have a binary companion, and I have not conjoined either... not for many eons.

Do you have any kids?
Nami: Nope. Too young for that, certainly.
Windman: I repeat -- how?
Trynis: Nah. Lifestyle choices and all that.
KiNETiC: No gender, no children. Is it really that hard to grasp?
Bel: So we're back to the words that I don't understand again. Great.
Darius: Kids... offspring... children... Hmm. I am searching for a comparable term that applies to our society, but it appears there is no directly similar concept.

What's your favorite food?
Nami: Fruits and berries, especially the juiciest types. I'm a fan of the sweet stuff, as well.
Windman: Come on, are you not even looking at my metal and not-food-requiring body or something?
Trynis: I'm fond of beef, especially when used in Cephiran cooking. Of course, a great deal of our beef and other meats are taken from deceased monsters, so it probably isn't what you're used to.
KiNETiC: Of course I don't have to eat -- or consume anything other than Ideya energy when it really comes down to it -- but there's this little café in Teeming Metropolis that makes the best onion soup you'll ever eat.
Bel: I don't understand this. In fact, this whole interview seems skewed against our people. Care to explain that, or should I just leave?
Darius: Food -- fuel! This is a concept analogous to our hydrogen sustenance. But I have no favorite, as there is only one significant variety.

Have you ever killed anyone?
Nami: An alternate-universe me was much more brutal than I am and resorted to murder more than once, but I myself have never killed any sentient.
Windman: I killed Bill Gates once. It was glorious, let me tell you.
Trynis: Just monsters, but loads of them.
KiNETiC: Nope. Barely even killed any Minions, actually. Selph usually saves me for the upper-level Nightmaren, and I haven't yet successfully defeated any of them in battle, so I have yet to test my ability to kill.
Bel: To make a star's core go cold is unthinkable! I could never--!
Darius: The universe is too dark as it is; we need as much light as all the stars there are can produce. To stop that light is a detriment to the world, and I refuse ever to be a party to it.

Do you hate anyone?
Nami: My own Black form is the most hateful being I have yet encountered. That version of me is... Well. You just don't want to meet him. By extension, the being I hate most is myself.
Windman: Not exactly. There are a few people, but I don't really feel any organic emotion. My emotions are programmed and so I can't truly hate.
Trynis: Zagato, Alcyone, and the rest of the turncoats that betrayed our country -- and, more importantly, the Princess.
KiNETiC: Nah, it's not worth the effort.
Bel: People bug me, but not that much.
Darius: The singularities that roam our galaxy are frightful indeed; the mere thought of a black hole not only fills me with fear but with rage as well.

What is your job?
Nami: Once upon a time, I was the Emissary of the Great Author Dude, but it's been a very long time indeed. Since then, it's been everything between Zone Cop, color mage, paladin of Good, author insert, Power-hunter, Lightside City guardian, city founder, and Jacob's part-time Muse along with Windman.
Windman: I currently play Muse for Jacob some of the time, but I was built as a warrior.
Trynis: You could probably call it "Monster Hunter," but I prefer to be called a hero.
KiNETiC: Demia of force and motion. Earth Aspect. Not that much to it, really.
Bel: Stellar avatar. If that's not what you meant, I'm not sure what else to tell you.
Darius: I am a member of the Council of Stars. Barely.

What do you do to relax?
Nami: Go into camo mode and sit in trees. There's just something really relaxing about being in that situation, invisible, knowing that it's totally empty, even of you.
Windman: Shut down to save power or for maintenance, if I need either, or running maintenance checks on my system files. Sad, I know.
Trynis: Blow off steam by killing monsters. Not much else to do.
KiNETiC: Adrenaline is always good, and the easiest way I know to get a rush is to detach my spikes from the ground and fling myself into the air with force beams. You'd be surprised how fun that can be.
Bel: Merge with my star. The fires of my core are the best environment in which to think and meditate. Besides, that way I'm there if something goes wrong.
Darius: Avoid the Council. Their constant arguing and bickering and prejudice and bigotry have deeply affected my peace of mind for the worse.

There's a person who's teasing you.
Nami: Well that would be annoying, wouldn't it?
Windman: Okay. And?
Trynis: What do they have to tease me about? I'm a hero!
KiNETiC: And would they like force beams to the face with that, or are they just dumb?
Bel: Go away already. I really don't feel up to abiding more needless irritation.
Darius: If I've offended, please tell me how, that I may rectify my error.

Let's say there's a person you really care about but she/he doesn't know your feelings.
Nami: Okay. Well, the easiest way to deal with that is to show them how I feel by doing what I do best -- protection.
Windman: Neat trick. I don't feel anything, remember?
Trynis: Like I said before, the closest person to this is Aliratha, but she's almost more like a sister... almost.
KiNETiC: Not sure about that. It's never yet happened to me.
Bel: That's really not the case. As far as I know, Christmas Star knows exactly how I feel about her, but she is simply unable to come to grips with herself enough to accept me.
Darius: Then there is a problem. I am no longer bright enough to show what I feel, let alone enough to conjoin.

Do you like your creator?
Nami: Sure. I was basically him for several years, so I know him inside and out. The only thing I didn't like is the issues he was planning to put me through back in Chaos Comics before he abandoned the project.
Windman: Yet again, no real feelings. But my programmed emotions find me agreeing with his presence quite a bit.
Trynis: Like my friend Nami over there, I was an author-insert. So yes.
KiNETiC: Barely ever see him. He should visit more, so that I know what not to like about the guy.
Bel: He gave me my one awesome pose, that's good enough for me.
Darius: My intelligence has existed since before time and after the end of matter. It was neither created nor destroyed, but simply changed.

Favorite season?
Nami: Each one has something to be said for it, and each one has something to say.
Windman: Summer. Stronger weather control and generally less wetness to damage my systems.
Trynis: I'm fond of spring. Bright mornings and strong winds are my ideals, but I certainly enjoy the warmth as well.
KiNETiC: Autumn, I think. The colors are strong in the autumn.
Bel: What's a season?
Darius: Season... A relative rotation of a planet around its star, is that correct? Seasons are not relevant.

Who's your best friend?
Nami: Twilight Kantowa.
Windman: Friend really doesn't apply here, does it? Oh well. If I had to pick someone for that spot, it'd be Kumai. After all, he does command my Navi port.
Trynis: Kanzeon and Osis always handled things well. Good people to hang around.
KiNETiC: CHiME.
Bel: Christmas Star. Not many like her in the entire universe, much less in our little corner of it.
Darius: I have retained only a very few friends in my age. The only one I feel I can trust is Mordecai... alarming, when one thinks of the changes he has undergone over recent centuries.

Hobbies?
Nami: I read. I learn. Just about any way I can, I gather information, generally on my own.
Windman: As I said before, cleaning my system. Making coding improvements, that kind of thing. Not remarkably interesting, but it's what I do.
Trynis: I spend most of my down-time helping the kids in the villages I pass through to learn their magic -- the ones that are interested, anyhow.
KiNETiC: I observe culture. Mostly our own lately, because of the "dreamer drought" we're stuck in at the moment.
Bel: What in the Galaxy is a hobby?
Darius: I'm afraid I am unfamiliar with this concept.

So...what are you gonna do now?
Nami: I guess I'll head back to the emblem room.
Windman: Back into standby mode, I suppose. Not much else needs doing in here.
Trynis: The monsters that Kanzeon's been tailing are approaching a settlement, so I'm off to get rid of them.
KiNETiC: Probably head back to the Metropolis. Apparently RiVET had something there that needed testing.
Bel: Get back to my project -- getting Christmas Star to open up. I've only been working with her for a couple of thousand years, so there's still a good chance of success.
Darius: As I mentioned earlier, I'm going to avoid the Council. I am weary of their petty problems.

100 QUESTIONS FOR ARTISTS

01. What is your pen name?
Q-Lok. Also, Jacob Libris.

02. What made you choose this name?
I came up with it a long time ago, and it sort of stuck.

03. Do you use PC or Mac?
Mac.

04. What programs do you use most often?
Firefox, TextEdit, iTunes, Last.FM, Skype, Audacity, GIMP, Photoshop Elements, MS Word 2003 For Mac, Grab, GarageBand, Activity Monitor, et cetera.

05. Do you use mouse, or tablet?
Tablet, whenever I'm drawing on the computer. Which isn't often these days.

06. What color or color combination's do you find yourself using most often?
I frequently use greens, dark colors, and warm colors. Not often all together, though.

07. What part of a picture do you put most effort into?
I dunno. I usually have to put the most work into the lineart, just because I'm lousy at it.

08. How long does it take you do draw a picture?
Depends on the size and how good I feel it needs to be. Usually upwards of an hour, sometimes upwards of a week.

09. Do you keep your rough drafts?
Oh yes.

10. What font do you use most often?
Arial. But I don't really use it in art... ever.

11. When you scan your image, what DPI do you use?
300. Or 75, depending on whether I care.

12. Do you do anything else when you're drawing?
Anything else meaning listen to music or otherwise distract myself? Yes. Anything else meaning additional techniques? Not so much.

13. Approximately how many pictures do you draw in a month?
Depends on the month.

14. What kind of paper do you draw your pictures on?
Mostly whatever I have on-hand. I try to put my work on actual art pads, though.

15. What kind of paper do you use for rough sketches and drafts?
Same thing. I try to put them on my nice paper, but whatever's handy.

16. How long does it take you to ink something?
Not long, but I really enjoy that part a lot more than the linework, so I do it with a bit more vigor.

17. Do you do comics, or fan comics?
Rarely, but yes.

18. Do you like comics? Are they fun to make?
I think I would really enjoy inking comics, but the layouts and drawing the same characters in similar scenes and poses over and over is insanely boring, so I've never gotten it to the fun parts.

19. Have you ever submitted anything to a magazine?
Nope.

20.
Q20 was missing. Nothing to see here, folks.

21. Who are your favorite artists?
=spinningcannon, ~Madmatica, ~astrima/*iMAGNi, ~Ideya-Freak... The list goes on and I don't have time to write it all out. You get the idea.

22. Do you like anime/manga? If so, what are your favorite series?
Yes; I enjoy Tsubasa, Cardcaptor Sakura, Magic Knight Rayearth, .hack//SIGN, Read Or Die, the first series of Pokémon and Digimon, Metropolis, Astro Boy/Mighty Atom, Black Jack, Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok, Rockman.EXE, Angelic Layer, Trigun, Wolf's Rain, Samurai Champloo... I'm pretty sure there are more that go on this list. I'd have put Serial Experiments Lain, but that's just too creepy.

23. Do you like cartoons/comics? If so, what are your favorite series?
Yes. Beast Wars (not entirely sure that counts), Reboot (same problem), G1 Transformers, ElfQuest, Watchmen, The Amazing Spider-Man (it's important to distinguish the first years of the Spider-Man franchise from the frankly weird newer ones), The Uncanny X-Men (same thing), King of Persia and all the rest of Walt Holcombe's work (as published in Things Just Get Away From You)... Again, I'm certain there are a good few others that I'm forgetting here.

24. Any artists that you wish you could draw like?
See my answer to 21.

25. Do you read a lot of books?
Used to. Now, not so much.

26. Did you ever buy a book to inspire or teach you to draw?
Sorta. Not really.

27. Any video games you enjoy?
Lots and lots. Please don't ask me to list them.

28. Any favorite characters from video games?
Yes. Not going to list those either. I think I put them down on another quiz somewhere.

29. Do you have a favorite writer?
A few. WâRP, Garth Nix, Diane Duane, Neil Gaiman, =spinningcannon, =LordBlumiere, Walt Holcombe, William Goldman, and I'm starting to quite enjoy Catharine Jinks.

30. Any books you really enjoy?
Young Wizards, the Evil Genius series, The Princess Bride, Seventh Tower

31. Do you draw fanart?
Yes.

32. Do you listen to music while you draw?
Yes.

33. Any recommended songs?
Not really. My recommendation is to find the mood that best fits your work, then play only music that promotes that mood for you. Everyone's tastes are a little different, so it's difficult to pick just one song that's helpful to everyone.

34. Any other art websites that you really enjoy?
Not really, no.

35. Are there any websites that you go to everyday?
dA, obviously; iGoogle; there are a few others, including a bunch of webcomics, but those are the big ones.

36. What is your dream website like?
I'm thinking full data on who is and is not online at any given moment -- by IP rather than username -- a great deal of content, amusing and serious alike, a thoughtful and caring community that does not act like jerks nine-tenths of the time... Hmm, I think that's it. ...Oh, and built-in online productivity tools (i.e. artistic and data document editing, etc.).

37. Do you like your own art?
Sure, mostly. Except when I was being lazy drawing it.

38. What do you enjoy watching on television?
Not much. I watch DVDs because the few good shows that have been on in the last few years are all on cable, which we don't get, only.

39. Favorite celebrity?
Stephen Hawking. I'd say either Bob Martin or Janet Van De Graaff, but they're totally unknown outside the theater crowd in the States and so barely count.

40. Favorite color?
Green and orange. Not together, though. They look kinda weird together most of the time.

41. Favorite food?
Pesto and the dishes that go with it.

42. Favorite drink?
Cream soda, either flat American or carbonated Italian. The American kind has fantastic flavor but obscenely over-carbonates and is only good flat; the Italian kind has very-different-but-still-fantastic flavor and also is usually carbonated only enough to get a nice little fizzy kick to it -- not enough to blow your sinuses out with a belch afterwards.

43. Do you like to go shopping? If yes, where? And for what?
Sort of. I do like shopping at game stores and computer stores (though not for non-Apple equipment), and in those cases for pretty much anything they sell. Otherwise, usually not at all.

44. Can you cook?
Sort of. I'm quite capable of it, but I usually just don't.

45. Any devices you use often for email? Any electronic pets?
Again, sort of. I used Kiara for e-mail for a short time, but it was too headachy to get her to work with the updated Gmail system. As for e-pets, no.

46. Are you tech-savvy?
Yup.

47. Do you want to become a professional artist?
That would be very good for me, yes.

48. Are there any other jobs you're interested in?
Sure. Psychiatrist/therapist, computer programmer, graphic designer (yes, yes, it's very similar, I know), game designer, sysadmin (probably not), and finally, whatever a philosophy major does for a living.

49. Any other hobbies or skills besides drawing?
I relate well to technology, and I have a great and abiding creativity and curiosity that carry across to pretty much everything I do.

50. Do you like to watch movies?
Sure, some of them.

51. What's your favorite movie?
I dunno, probably either Princess Bride or Mirrormask. Wall-E is up there as well.

52. Have you ever entered an art contest?
A long, long, LONG time ago, yes. It was in this galaxy, though, so at least that's something.

53. When did you start drawing seriously?
About two years ago. Maybe three months before I joined dA.

54. Do you use references? If so, for what?
Yes. ...For reference, what do you think? I'm notoriously bad at getting small details right from memory, even for my own characters, so it's necessary for me to use reference art.

55. Are you a subscriber? If so, are you a beta-tester?
Yes and no.

56. Do you have a lot of net friends?
I have a good few, not tons. About as many as I can deal with right now, though, so it's fine.

57. Do you have a lot of friends that also draw?
Yes, almost all of them on dA.

58. What time of the day do you usually go online?
Anytime I can.

59. Do you like to go to chat rooms?
I did for awhile, but the total lack of any real direction to their conversations really turned me off to the whole chat scene.

60. Do you have your own computer?
Yes, two of them.

61. What would you say to the person that you admire?
I love you. And I'm sorry.

62. Does your mind wander when you draw?
Oh yes.

63. Have you drawn poorly because you think too much?
Somewhat. Yeah.

64. Do you have any friends who are professional artists?
No, I don't think so. Unless you count my animator friend.

65. Where do you often hang out?
I don't hang out, which is really something I'd like to change one of these days.

66. Are there any popular artists that you don't like much?
There are a few. Not many, though.

67. Are there any situations in which you really don't like being an Artist?
Not really, other than when people suddenly think I'm the cat's meow for no other reason and decide to start following me around for free artwork. Also when I'm around my extended family. They pester me.

68. How about situations that make you love it?
Anytime people like my work. Or connect to it. Or connect to me through it. Or even pay attention to it.

69. What's the one thing that makes you grateful that the internet exists?
=spinningcannon.

70. Is there anything out there that makes you wish the internet didn't exist?
Yes, there is.

71. What's your first drawing?
I don't know. Probably the stuff in my preschool book.

72. Any art you did prior to that?
Um, no, that was my first drawing.

73. Has your style changed a lot since then?
AhahahaYES.

75. Have you experienced artist's block before?
Plenty of times.

76. If so, how do you usually get out of it?
I usually just wake up one day really inspired and if I can actually get myself to draw during that day I can be totally free of my block for awhile. If not, I fall back into it for between a couple of days and a few weeks.

77. What do you do when you can't get out of it?
Stay in it. Not much choice there, is there?

78. Any people that have influenced you a lot?
Yes, too many to list.

79. What made you want to start drawing?
Meeting my Muse, Selph. That's what finally made it happen.

81. Has anything ever made you want to quit art all together?
A few times. Not really, though.

82. What do you think about netiquette?
I think it isn't followed or enforced nearly as much as it should be. People are pretty much jerks all the time, so netiquette is mostly ignored in practice, and I hate it.

83. Have you ever been spammed or trolled?
A couple times, yes. Thankfully I don't have to deal with it very much, though.

86. Do you upload high quality versions of your art submissions, or do you prefer to upload a lower quality?
I upload the highest quality I have on-hand.

87. Do you have custom CSS? If so, did you make it yourself?
No, but I'm going to put some in soon.

88. Do you have good vision?
Haha, not even slightly. Without my glasses, I can't see more than five inches in front of me.

89. If you can get anyone's autograph, whose would you get?
I'd say either Bob Martin or Janet Van De Graaff on this one as well, but I already have theirs. I'm going to have to go with TRiPPY (*iMAGNi and ~astrima) or DiGi (*iMAGNi and ~Digi7777) on this.

91. Do you like to draw on Oekaki BBS?
Used to. Never really got the hang of it, though. I should try again one of these days.

92. Do you have a job?
Yeah. Hate it.

93. Did you take art in school? If so, did you do well? Are you still taking it?
No, other than in high school. Will be taking art classes soon, though.

94. Have you taken art lessons outside of a school setting?
Barely. But yes.

95. Have you ever drawn something just because it was the cool thing to do -- the hip new fad?
I don't think so, no.

96. What's your favorite phrase/quote?
Hmm. I'm not sure, actually. I have a lot of favorites. I'm going to have to go with the one I had in my sig for ages on end for this one: "Listen... there's nothing harder than knowing the person that you love is unhappy. And I know how important it is to do something about it." -Commander Benjamin Sisko, Star Trek: Deep Space 9 ...Or possibly: "Sometimes the appropriate response to reality is to go insane." -Philip K. Dick

97. Do you present yourself differently online than you do in your real life?
Not really. At least, I try not to.

98. What's your goal now?
To make myself even slightly stable again.

99. What do you have to say to yourself?
Trust me when I tell you you don't want me to repeat it here.

100. Do you have anything else to say to everyone out there?
No, not really.

Answer: My favorite species are probably Rapidash, Magneton, Electabuzz, Raichu, Pidgeot, Parasect (I am determined to make the one I have on Blue version worth using), Farfetch'd (and who DOESN'T love the duck with the leek?), Hitmonchan, Staryu, Scyther, Porygon, Kabuto, Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Dragonair, Ledian, Steelix, Scizor, and Skarmory. I also am fond of the Eevee evolutions, but they're so horridly overused that they don't make my list. As for individual Pokémon, the ones which I've showered with by far the most love (so far) are Borealis (my level 78 Raichu), and a level 55 Butterfree that I usually use against the Elite Four.

Question 18
And your second favorite?
Answer: After those two, I'm going to have to go with my level 65 Venusaur.

Question 19
What is your favorite legendary?
Answer: The legendary birds are my favorites, but I'd be hard-pressed to choose just one. One thing that's always bothered me about them, though, is their ridiculously small move selection (not counting TMs, of course).

Question 20
And your second favorite legendary?
Answer: I'd have to go with Mew. I've always liked the idea of an ultimately powerful, one-of-a-kind Pokémon that's a flying pink kitten.

Question 21
Do you know what 493 is in the National Pokédex?
Answer: No, nor do I care.

Question 22
What is it?
Answer: I don't know.

Question 23
Would you rather have a Meowth or a Growlithe?
Answer: Growlithe. They're easily more awesome in most ways. The one thing Meowth has going for it is Pay Day, which is essentially a Pokémon mugging. And who doesn't want that?

Question 24
How many of your relatives like Pokémon?
Answer: A lot fewer of them now than when it was actually new.

Question 25
How often do you think about Pokémon?
Answer: Lately? All the time. For the past eight or so years? Almost never.

Question 26
Do you keep the fact you like Pokémon from your real life friends?
Answer: Not really, but I don't really advertise it either.

Question 27
What pets do you have that resemble Pokémon?
Answer: None.

Question 28
What Pokémon do you hate most?
Answer: Just about anything created after G/S/C. Generation III and onwards are an insult to the old fans.

Question 29
Which Eeveelution do you like best?
Answer: I'm fond of Jolteon, though I think I like Flareon's move list better.

Question 30
Which Castform form is best?
Answer: The point of a Pokémon that changes form to match the weather without actually evolving completely escapes me.

Question 31
Which Deoxys form is best?
Answer: Again, why bother with the Transformers Pokémon?

Question 32
Which Giratina form is best?
Answer: See 30 and 31. I have a low opinion of the Pokémon that do this. Not, of course, that the rest of the latest two generations were anything more than shameful, but still. Those ones were worse than usual.

Question 33
Skymin or Shaymin?
Answer: Neither, please.

Question 34
Phione or Manaphy?
Answer: See 33.

Question 35
Darkrai or Cresselia?
Answer: See 33. Although on this one I'm going to have to go with Darkrai, just because =spinningcannon likes it.

Question 36
Gardevoir or Gallade?
Answer: See 33.

Question 37
Glalie or Froslass?
Answer: See 33.

Question 38
Magmortar or Electivire?
Answer: Heavens no. The whole reason I liked Magmar and Electabuzz in the first place was because they didn't need to evolve to be awesome. Also, having looked them up on Bulbapedia, I can say without reservation that these two Pokémon are ugly as sin.

Question 39
Chatot or Farfetch'd?
Answer: Farfetch'd.

Question 40
Pidgey, Spearow or Starly?
Answer: Pidgey. I've always liked Pidgeot, so there you go.

Question 41
Latios or Latias?
Answer: See 33.

Question 42
Kyogre or Groudon?
Answer: See 33.

Question 43
Dialga or Palkia?
Answer: See 33.

Question 44
Azelf, Mesprit or Uxie?
Answer: See 33.

Question 45
Articuno, Zapdos or Moltres?
Answer: Prolly Zapdos. I like the other two just as much, though.

Question 46
Mew or Mewtwo?
Answer: Mewtwo, methinks. Just because I don't really know anything about Mew's attacks and stats.

Question 47
Lugia or Ho-Oh?
Answer: I actually like Lugia somewhat better, but I'm going to answer Ho-Oh for this on account of the fact that, since Pokémon The Movie 2000, Lugia's gotten all the attention.

Question 48
Entei, Suicune or Raikou?
Answer: I really don't care. I've never really liked the idea of "legendary dogs" much.

Question 49
Celebi or Jirachi?
Answer: Celebi.

Question 50
Which two people will you tag?
Answer: Are "no one" and "nobody" options? No? Fine, then. :iconbdsb: and :iconsairus:, just for fun.

1. What was the first deviation you uploaded?
I think it was the original reference artwork for Selph.

2. How many deviations have you submitted?
Well over 1,000, and the number is climbing by the day.

3. Do you submit everything you create?
With only a very few exceptions, yes.

4. Do you read all the comments you get?
Yes.

5. Do you reply to all the comments you get?
Not all, but I try to. Sometimes I get hit by something really difficult to respond well to, though, and I eventually have to pass it by. I always leave it in my inbox until I either reply or decide is no longer relevant, just in case I ever manage to work up the effort to give an adequate response.

6. Do you read all the favorites/watches you get?
Yeah. No reason in the world not to, at my low level of popularity.

7. Do you prefer comments or favs?
Comments, sort of. I like comments, because they give me verbal feedback (which is very good), but sometimes it seems silly that people give me comments containing strong praise and then don't bother taking the negligible effort to click the little + button.

8. Do you think that Deviantart is good for critique?
I think it could be if people were both more accepting of it and more willing to put effort into giving it.

9. Do you think there's a lot of drama on DA?
Oh yes.

10. Do you think DA would be better if it filtered out people who are not serious at artwork or causing too much drama?
I think it would be more peaceful and "shinier" on the whole, but it wouldn't be as enjoyable on the whole.

11. Do you think the age limit should be higher than 13 for creating an account?
No, but I do think that kids should be more responsible with their accounts than they generally are.

12. Do you go on the DA forums?
Only when I need information that I can't find another way.

13. Would you buy a subscription?
Obviously, yes.

So now I have another new pseudonym. Limerick Lexington is my brand-spanking-new Second Life avatar. He actually looks quite a bit like me, sans glasses. And fashion sense. I can't seem to find the right clothes, so I went with an outfit vaguely reminiscent of this drawing of me by ~Ideya-Freak.

Anyhoo, I'd appreciate any of you who are already over there to let me know so I actually can have something to *do*. Also, there's a NiGHTS club on SL and I've been hearing talk of a possible iMAGNi area that TRiP might be putting up in the future, for those interested.

Peace out,

Okay. Got some stuff to say. Got some apologies to make. Mostly to you guys. I've been acting pretty jerky lately, just hiding away and ignoring things that really should have been dealt with a long time ago. I've been ignoring relationships, commitments, and friends. It's not good at all. But there is a reason for it. I've had things that I've been dealing with for some time, mostly personal issues that have spilled out into other areas of my life. It's gotten so bad that I've not only been trying to escape from this website but from my responsibilities and from my friends. In fact, there have only been really two things that have kept me going -- Star Sigil and Heroscape. They're both escapes, and both are pretty piteous excuses to avoid my responsibilities, but I've told myself enough times that they were good enough that for awhile I believed it. But it's not quite right.

I'm sorry to you all for my absence, for prolonging it so much more than was necessary. It's just become very difficult to find this place fun anymore. Too many strings attached.

On a lighter note, though, I'm back (at least for now), and I have a @#$%-load of new art to show you folks, going all the way back to last April. Also, as I said above, I've been doing a ton of work on Star Sigil and have about eight new characters for it, not to mention a one-per-week average for those drawings. It's a new year, and that means that for awhile I'll try extra-extra hard to do things right, though I probably won't succeed particularly much more than usual. It's just been Christmas, which means that I now own the complete Firefly DVD set and about twice the amount of Heroscape parts as before, plus some awesome posters, shirts, and other assorted cool stuff. All of that means that you get a more or less happy me, and I'm going to try and actually behave that way no matter how much I don't feel like it.

Good luck to you all in the year two-thousand and nine. May it be better than the last one.

Peace out,
~Q-Lok
